About Animals at Home (Tunbridge Wells and Wealden) Ltd.

As a child I had the normal cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs and was literally farmed out to a family with chickens pigs a dairy herd and horses. By 12, I had my first horse from a rescue centre as thin as a clothes horse but 2 years later we were jumping at Hickstead. Life moved on - boarding school, travels abroad, university, secretarial college, marriage and my animal life was centred around dog training - working trials obedience and agility. I am now single with a 20 year old son (who loves aquatics) settled in my own 'farm'. I currently have 2 dogs both rescue - Ruben (a rottie pup) and George 18 month old GSD x, 1 cat and 2 horses - Goldie an American Quarter Horse and Nonnie a Quarter Horse x Irish Draught and I now ride 'western'. I am also part owner (his tail I think) of a competition 'Reining' horse which we hope may qualify for the World Equestrian Games in Germany next year.

I have just given up my career of the last 20+ years as a Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages - a lovely job but I am excited to be able to spend all my time combining my passion for animals with my experience of helping the public. I have long considered starting a pet care business on my own but Animals at Home has given me so much support, backing and extensive training that I now feel that I am in a position to offer a truly professional caring and knowledgeable service to animal owners in my area.
